Welcome 16TH CENTURY RECORDS OF THE GENT FAMILY AT LEEK 17TH CENTURY RECORDS OF THE GENT FAMILY AT LEEK 18TH CENTURY RECORDS OF THE GENT FAMILY AT LEEK |
The Gent family can be traced back in the parish of Leek, in the far Northern corner of the county of Staffordshire, to the sixteenth century. They were farmers there for centuries. The last link was broken in 1870 when the family farm, Middlehulme, was finally sold. The history of the family was first traced by Frank Turner Gent a hundred years ago.

There's a mass of information, as many family papers have survived, dating back to the mid-seventeenth century, but mostly from the nineteenth century. These include letters, photographs, diaries, wills, deeds and many other items.
Other pages include information about the Turner, Booth, Warburton, Thomson and Neild families. |
